Take control of the Carrousel Rave Tug

The CRT tows from a carrousel ring that turns freely around its hull. The tug can turn its hull across the flow to create braking and steering force, while the towline stays put.

The line angle sets the split: straight aft is 100% braking, 45° is 50/50, abeam is 100% steering.

Aft braking

Tug at the stern. Slow the ship down.

Bow spring

Tug alongside the bow. Turn the ship.

Guided challenge · Aft braking

Brake the vessel from 8 to 5 knots.

Drag the left control to move. Hold the curved arrows to rotate the hull.

Move away to tension the towline. Turn the hull across the flow to increase force. The line angle decides how that force is split: straight aft is 100% braking, 45° is 50% braking and 50% steering, abeam is 100% steering. The arrow shows the force on the ship.

Illustrative force model, capped at the 180 t dynamic bollard pull of Multratug 32. Line extension shows slack to full reach, not a safe working load.
