Narrative
On 7 October 1998, Evco Crest girded, took on water and nearly capsized while towing a loaded gravel barge in Vancouver Harbour. Appendix B of TSB report M18P0230 identifies this event as M98W0220. The July 2008 Second Narrows Vessel Transits risk report gives an occurrence entry dated 7 October 1998 and locates the tug off Lynn Terminals. It records that the tow abort station was out of reach, the towline broke and the tug resurfaced. The vessel was pumped out and proceeded under its own power to Coal Harbour. The entry reports no injuries and considerable damage, without a monetary estimate. These are occurrence data reproduced in a port risk report, rather than findings from a standalone investigation.

Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada records M98W0220 in Appendix B of report M18P0230 (printed page 34). That report investigates George H. Ledcor; its causal findings do not establish the causes of this occurrence. No standalone report for M98W0220 was located in the exact-identifier and Canadian government archive searches.
