Narrative
At 01:15 PST on 21 January 2007, Jacques Cartier B.C. was towing the loaded barge Maquinna and docking at the Lafarge North Vancouver depot. A contemporaneous Lloyd's casualty report and the TSB MARSIS occurrence row state that the tug was pulled in by the barge and girded. It listed to starboard, water entered the accommodation, and the towline broke. [1][2]
MARSIS records no deaths, minor injuries, serious injuries, or missing persons. Neither source describes what happened after the towline broke, whether pumping or outside assistance was required, or what repair followed the water ingress.
Appendix B of TSB report M18P0230 later summarized the occurrence under the shortened name Jacques Cartier, stating that the tug girded and listed heavily to starboard while towing a loaded barge in Vancouver Harbour. The appendix does not state that the tug capsized and does not provide incident-specific findings. Westco Pioneer is a later name for Jacques Cartier B.C., not the incident-time name. [1][2][3]

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada records M07W0012 in its MARSIS occurrence data and in Appendix B of report M18P0230 on the later George H. Ledcor casualty.
