Definition
Fatigue and reduced alertness are human-performance conditions that can degrade lookout, monitoring, decision-making, communication, and response during navigation or emergency work.
Why it matters
Fatigue is not a generic explanation for every watchkeeping failure. Link this concept only when an accident page attributes fatigue, insufficient rest, sleep disruption, workload, or a related alertness condition to the event. The individual accident page remains authoritative for whether the factor was confirmed, reported, suspected, or explicitly excluded.
