Grounding of APL Vanda at Bramble Bank (2016)

The container ship APL Vanda grounded at Bramble Bank, off Cowes, while inbound to Southampton from Le Havre on the night of 13 February 2016. Grounding of CSCL Jupiter at Bath's Bend

CSCL Jupiter grounded at Bath's Bend on 14 August 2017. The available TradeWinds article describes the bend as a navigational chokepoint for ultra-large container ships, but provides only limited information about the event.

MSC Ines (2017)

MSC Ines broke free from its moorings at Durban, South Africa, during a powerful storm on 10 October 2017. The Panama-flagged containership drifted across the harbour and blocked the port entrance while tugs attempted to secure it.

COSCO Hope (2016)

COSCO Hope allided with gantry crane 17 while departing the Suez Canal Container Terminal at Port Said, Egypt, on 3 May 2016. The crane collapsed onto container stacks, a fire followed, and terminal operations were suspended.

APL Temasek (2015)

On 27 October 2015, the containership APL Temasek allided with a gantry crane and an unnamed navy barge at the Suez Canal Container Terminal in Port Said, Egypt. The vessel was left beneath the damaged crane while specialists assessed the risk of collapse. The article reported no injuries or pollution.

MSC Alexandra (2016)

On 3 August 2016, the container ship MSC Alexandra collided with the VLCC Dream II in the Precautionary Area of the Singapore Strait traffic-separation scheme. Both vessels sustained damage and six empty containers fell overboard.

YM Wind (2016)

On 14 September 2016, the unfinished container ship YM Wind was among vessels reported to have broken loose in Kaohsiung Harbor during Typhoon Meranti. The shipbuilder deployed tugs and the vessels were reportedly secured later that afternoon.

MV Tolten (2018)

MV Tolten contacted the moored MV Hamburg Bay while berthing at South Asia Pakistan Terminals in the Port of Karachi on 19 March 2018. The reported collision left approximately 55 to 60 containers in the harbor and led to a temporary suspension of shipping operations during cleanup.

Laura Maersk (2018)

Laura Maersk and MSC Shuba B collided while manoeuvring in the Port of Callao, Peru; minimal damage was reported.

Cosco Busan (2007)

The Hong Kong-registered containership Cosco Busan allided with the Delta tower fendering of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in dense fog on 7 November 2007. The impact released about 53,500 gallons of fuel oil into San Francisco Bay.

HANSA Constitution (2014)

The container ship HANSA Constitution ran aground near the University of Hong Kong sports ground at Pok Fu Lam on 6 April 2014 after reported power loss in Hong Kong's East Lamma Channel.

Colombo Express (2014)

Colombo Express lost control during an overtaking attempt and collided with Maersk Tanjong at the north end of the Suez Canal. The impact dented Colombo Express's port bow and knocked three containers from Maersk Tanjong.

New Katerina (2016)

New Katerina ran aground at kilometer 69 in the Suez Canal, delaying canal convoys while refloating assistance was awaited.

APL Jeddah (2017)

On 7 July 2017, APL Jeddah lost power while being guided out of Kaohsiung Port and struck No. 58 Wharf, also identified as the Kaohsiung Oil Terminal Jetty. The berth was badly damaged and operations were suspended. The article reported no casualties, pollution, or injury.

Allision of Ever Given with ferry Finkenwerder

Ever Given veered towards the Blankenese ferry terminal on the Elbe and struck the moored ferry Finkenwerder. The available article reported three ferry crew aboard, with the captain taken to hospital as a precaution and two other crew members in shock.

Groundings of Ocean Prefect at Umm Al Qaywayn (2017)

Ocean Prefect grounded twice while entering Ahmed Bin Rashid Port. The first grounding on 10 June 2017 caused no identified damage. The second, on 11 June, breached port-side shell plating and ballast tanks 1, 2 and 3. No one was injured and no pollution occurred.
